The European aerospace concern Airbus said it had received all the necessary approvals from the regulators to purchase a controlling stake in the business of the Canadian company Bombardier for the production of the Bombardier C Series aircraft. The companies plan to close the deal on July 1. Under its terms, Airbus will receive a 50.1 percent share of the C Series Aircraft Limited Partnership business for assistance in bundling, selling and marketing airplanes. Airbus should also assist in negotiating with potential Bombardier customers, which will retain a 31 percent stake in the enterprise. A 19% stake will remain with the investment company Investissement Quebec. Bombardier plans this year to double the production of C-Series aircraft compared to 17 aircraft produced last year.
