Aluminum production in the world increased in July this year by 2.8% in annual terms to 5 million 472 thousand tons, according to the International Aluminum Institute. The most significant drop in production was recorded in South America - by 19.3%, and in North America - by 6%. At the same time, a significant increase in the output of metal - by 16%, was observed in Asia without taking into account the PRC. In China, production increased by 3.8% to 3 million 110 thousand tons. According to the IAI, the average daily output of aluminum increased to 176.5 thousand tons from 171,8 tons a year earlier. Over the period from January to July, world aluminum production decreased by 0.5% to 37 million 232 thousand tons.
