According to The Wall Street Journal, several months of negotiations between the companies ended in approval of the deal by their boards of directors. Natura Cosmeticos, the largest manufacturer of cosmetics in Brazil, has a direct sales network that is well developed in Latin America and in France. Thanks to the acquisition of Avon, it will be able to increase the coverage of the Brazilian market and increase sales in other countries of Latin America, as well as in Europe and Asia. Avon shares rose 25% on Wednesday during New York trading. Based on their price of 3.2 dollars per share at the end of the previous session, Avon capitalization is 1.4 billion dollars.
