Brazilian company Natura Cosmeticos buys American company Avon, specializing in the production and direct sales of cosmetics. According to The Wall Street Journal, several months of negotiations between the companies ended in approval of the deal by their boards of directors. The American manufacturer of cosmetics in recent years has experienced difficulties amid changes in consumer tastes, people now prefer shopping in online stores. Natura Cosmeticos, the largest manufacturer of cosmetics in Brazil, has a direct sales network that is well developed in Latin America and in France. Thanks to the acquisition of Avon, it will be able to increase the coverage of the Brazilian market and increase sales in other countries of Latin America, as well as in Europe and Asia. Avon shares rose 25% on Wednesday during New York trading. Based on their price of 3.2 dollars per share at the end of the previous session, Avon capitalization is 1.4 billion dollars.
