The index of German entrepreneurs' confidence in the economy of the country in June 2018 decreased to 101.8 points from 102.3 points in May, calculations of the research institute Ifo showed. The decrease in the indicator is due to the growth of trade risks connected with the escalation of trade tension between the US and China, and ambiguous economic data. Analysts had expected the index to fall to 101.7 points. Weakened activity was observed in the manufacturing sector, services, trade and construction. According to the Ifo economist, Klaus Wolfrab, the German economy is moving towards normalization after the boom last year.
