The number of registered cars in the UK fell by 20.5% in September in annual terms and amounted to 338 thousand 834 cars, the data from SMMT showed. The decline in supply due to the introduction of new testing requirements has negatively affected the sales. In the previous month, sales grew by 23.1%. The decrease in the number of registered cars for the period from January to September was 7.5%. SMMT chief executive Mike Hawes noted that the number of certified cars is increasing all the time, and this will improve the situation in the UK market in the coming months.
