China Mobile reported that in the first quarter its net profit fell by 8.3%, the maximum rate over the past 2 years, and amounted to 23 billion 700 million yuan. Revenue was at the level of 185 million yuan, a decrease of 0.3% over the year, including revenue from communication services decreased by 0.5%. The main factors that had a negative impact on quarterly indicators were falling revenues from domestic roaming and a reduction in tariffs for data transmission. The total number of customers of the Chinese telecom operator has grown to 931 million users compared to 923 million in the fourth quarter of 2018. The 4G network at the end of the first quarter was used by 723 million people, whereas at the end of last year there were 713 million. The number of customers who used home broadband Internet access rose to 167 million.
