Italian Istat published data on the level of consumer confidence in the country, according to which in April the corresponding index was 110.5 points, down from 111.2 points in the previous month. The Office notes a decrease in consumer confidence in Italy for the past three months. Experts had expected that in April, the index would increase to 111.3 points. The indicator characterizing the economic climate dropped to 122.6 points from 123.8 points. The indicator, which determines consumers' expectations for the future, amounted to 115.6 points, dropping from 115.9 points. The rise in the unemployment expectation index from 26.5 points to 27.1 points pointed to a worsening situation in the labor market. Of all the sectors, the growth of the trust index was recorded only in construction.
