The European Commission decided to invest 145.5 million euros in the construction of the Pogórska Wola-Tworzeń gas pipeline in the south of Poland with a length of 168 kilometers. EC spokesman Christian Spar said at a briefing in Brussels that the pipeline would allow Poles to have more reliable energy at more affordable prices. The construction of the gas pipeline should be completed in 2020. The pipeline is part of the North-South corridor, incorporated in 2017 into a 10-year development plan developed by the European Network of Gas Transmission System Operators. Currently, the European Union is financing 6 out of 10 projects in the North-South corridor.
