Sales of American liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Europe increased fivefold, due to which the Eurozone countries became the main buyers of LNG from the United States. Europe bought more natural gas from the United States than South Korea and Mexico. LNG supply to the continent increased from 0.7 tons in 2017 to 3.23 tons in 2018. States ranked second in gas supplies to Europe. First place belongs to Qatar, the largest producer of LNG. American manufacturers changed their main market after the decline in LNG prices in Asia. James Henderson, director of the LNG research program, believes that the new supply chain is not related to politics. The United States switched to the European market because they found more profit there. The European Union, led by Jean-Claude Juncker, and the United States, headed by Trump, agreed to set up a working group. The agreement will expand the supply of LNG from the United States to the EU.
