French energy and gas company Engie announced its new strategy aimed at developing renewable energy sources. In the next three years, she intends to leave 20 countries where it has been mining for coal, getting rid of these traditional energy assets. The company says that now its interest is directed to new markets in Southeast Asia and Africa, where it plans to implement 50% of new renewable energy projects. It is interested in the development of complex technologies, including wind energy. To become the leading corporate supplier of specialized agreements on the purchase of electricity, Engie intends to increase its capacity to 9 gigawatts by 2021. To achieve these goals, it plans to invest around 11–12 billion euros from 2019 to 2021.
