Both indicators coincided with expert estimates and with preliminary statistical data. Annual inflation in Germany, calculated according to national standards, was 1.3% in March. Compared with February, consumer prices increased by 0.4%, also confirming the forecasts of economists. Rising energy prices in annual terms accelerated to 4.2% from 2.9% in the previous month. The cost of food increased by 0.7%, while the prices of clothes and shoes decreased by 0.7%. The cost of services increased by 1.2%.
