The operator of Belgian nuclear power plants, Engie-Electrabel, said that at present two out of seven nuclear reactors operate in Belgium. Stopping of the work of generators is associated with a deterioration in the state of concrete in the construction of reactor bunkers, as well as with a leak in the cooling system. Belgian Minister of Energy Marie-Christine Marghem said that only one of 7 reactors would be operated in November. This is due to the carrying out of maintenance and technical work and may require a fan outage of electricity during the winter. The deficit of electricity can be 4 thousand megawatts, according to the calculations of the experts. The Belgian Ministry of Energy reported that Germany agreed to supply electricity to cover the deficit. Similar agreements can be concluded with France and the Netherlands.
