Glencore to trim copper and zinc production targets
Glencore PLC said that it would produce slightly less copper and zinc in the year than initially planned.
The world’s biggest commodity trader has trimmed their production targets from 1.025 million tons to 1.01 million tons of copper from its non-African business. It will also aim, to mine 1.11 million tons of zinc, down 7%.
Glencore’s African copper business in currently on target to reach its revised production goal this year. The company is attempting to turn around its flagship mine, Katanga which had previously lowered its output expectations.
