The Semiconductor Industry Association reported a decrease in sales of semiconductors in the world for the third month in a row. In the first quarter, sales were recorded at $96.8 billion, their decline in annual terms was 13%. The fall of the indicator relative to the previous quarter was at the level of 15.5%. In March, chip sales decreased by 13% compared the previous a year to $32.28 billion. Decline in sales was noted in all major regional markets and in all product categories. In Europe, in March, chips were sold by 6.8% less than a year earlier. In Japan, this figure fell by 11.1%, in China - by 9.4%. The most significant drop in sales of microprocessors was observed in the North and South America, where the figure fell by 26.6%.
