The International Monetary Fund estimates that Uzbekistan’s GDP will grow by 5.5% in 2019, its head, Albert Eger, said following the results of the work of the IMF mission in the country. Investments will provide the main support to economic growth in the current year, as in the next. GDP growth in Uzbekistan in 2020 will be at 6%. Eger especially noted significant investments in construction projects. Reducing demand for such export goods as gold, natural gas and non-ferrous metals can be potential risks for the economy of Uzbekistan, the IMF believes. Their cost will decrease. This year's credit growth is expected to maintain high inflation. According to the IMF forecast, its value will remain at last year’s level of 15%.
