In June, industrial production in Brazil grew by 13.1% compared to the previous month, when the index fell by 11%, according to the data of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistic. The June figure rose by a record amount, as the nationwide strike of truck drivers ended, caused by a sharp jump in diesel prices. According to experts, about 64% of all goods in Brazil are transported by trucks. The record growth of the indicator in June, however, did not justify the forecast of analysts who had expected an increase of 14.1%. In annual terms, industrial production in Brazil grew by 3.5% after a decline of 6.6% in May.
