According to the results of the first quarter, industrial production in Latvia increased by 4.5% compared to the same quarter last year, data of the Office for Central Statistics showed. Production in the manufacturing industry increased by 4.5%, in electricity and gas supply - by 5%. In the mining and quarrying industry, a decline of 2.6% was recorded. Relative to the previous quarter, industrial production growth was 0.9%. Decrease in the output was noted in the manufacturing industry at 0.8%, in the mining and quarrying industry - 8.1%. In electricity and gas supply there was an increase of 3.3%.
