Industrial production in the UK increased by 0.2% in August from July, ONS reported. Compared with the July rise of 0.4%, growth in August slowed. Analysts had predicted a rise of 0.1%. In annual terms, the volume of industrial production grew by 1.3%, while the growth expected by experts increased by 1%. The growth rate in the coal industry was 7.4%, in the oil and gas industry - 2.6%. For the month in the manufacturing industry a decline of 0.2% was recorded. Production decreased in the chemical industry by 2.3%, in woodworking industry - by 1.7%.
