Consumer prices in Sweden rose by 1.9% in annual terms in March, maintaining a stable level of inflation for two consecutive months, official statistics showed. According to economists, inflation was expected to drop to 1.8%. The price for food, fuel and clothing increased, while prices for electricity and books decreased. Consumer price growth in the past month slowed to 0.2% against the February increase of 0.7%. The growth rate was observed for two months in a row. Another data from the statistical office showed that housing in Sweden in the first quarter fell by 1% compared to the last quarter of last year. At the same time, compared to the same quarter of the previous year, prices remained stable.
