Iran has threatened to reduce its imports from Brazil if it does not allow the refueling of two Iran’s ships stranded off the Brazilian coast. Iran sees it as a sign of the global repercussions of U.S. sanctions on Iran. The ambassador of Islamic republic in Brasilia told Brazilian officials that his state could find new supplies of different agricultures if the South American country refuses to refuel the vessels. Last year Brazil exports almost $2 billion to Iran including such commodities like meat, sugar and corn. Brazilian oil company Petroleo Brasileiro SA which is controlled by government refuses to supply the ships. They have been floating for over a 4 weeks off the port of Paranagua — 280 miles from Sao Paulo.
