Norway has set a new record in sales of cars on new energy sources. In 2018, the share of green cars sold in the country was 31.2% against 20.9% in 2017. If we include hybrid models in this number, the percentage will increase to 49.1% against 38.9% in 2017. At the same time, sales of new cars fell by 6.8% in 2018 to 147,929 thousand cars, although last year was the sixth in terms of the number of cars sold. Sales of cars on new energy sources rose by 40% compared to 2017. Diesel vehicles, by contrast, were inferior. Their share in car sales dropped to 17.7% in 2018 from 23.1% in 2017. Now, every tenth of 2 million cars in Norway drives alternative fuel. Norway is the largest Tesla market in Europe. In 2018, 8.6 thousand brand cars were sold in the country. Given the release of the new budget Model 3, Tesla sales in Norway this year could grow sharply.
