Oil production in China rose by 0.2% in annual terms to 16 million tonnes in August, the National Statistical Office said. The growth of production is noted in the country for the first time since November 2015. The volume of oil refining amounted to 50 million 300 thousand tons, having increased by 5.6% compared to August 2017. Last month, the country produced 12 billion 900 million cubic meters of natural gas, which is 9.7% higher than the same month a year ago. Coal production increased by 4.2% to 300 million tons. As reported by Xinhua News Agency, in August, oil imports to the People's Republic of China, which provides 60% of the country's oil consumption, amounted to 38 million 400 thousand tons, having increased by 12.9% over the year.
