The South Korean company Samsung Electronics, following the results of the third quarter, reported on the growth of operating profit by 20.4% in annual terms to 17.5 trillion won due to good quarterly results of the semiconductor unit. The company increased its quarterly revenue compared with the same period last year by 4.7% to 65 trillion won, analysts had predicted 65 trillion 100 billion won. According to experts, 80% of the company's operating profit is the chip production unit. The division was able to significantly increase its performance due to rising prices for DRAM chips.
