A spokesman for American Proctor&Gamble, one of the leaders in the global consumer goods market, told Reuters that the company was exempted from 25 percent duties imposed by the United States on steel imports from Japan and Sweden. Proctor&Gamble uses steel from these countries to manufacture Gillette and Venus razor blades. Earlier, the company said that the US did not produce high-quality steel grades required for the blades, so it asked to exempt it from duties on imported more expensive steel. At the end of the fiscal year ended July 31, 10% of global sales of Proctor&Gamble accounts for the body care business, the main components of which are Gillette and Venus.
