French automaker Renault in 2018 reduced its net profit for the first time in five years. The company reported a 36.6% drop to 3 billion 302 million euros. Revenue and operating profit of the company also showed a decline. Revenue in the amount of 57 billion 419 million euros decreased over the year by 2.3%, and operating profit fell by 6.3%, having reached 3 billion 612 million euros. At the same time, global sales of Renault grew by 3.2%, having reached 3 million 880 thousand cars. The company reduced operating profit margin to 6.3% from 6.6% a year earlier. The share of Renault's new electric vehicles in the European market was 22.2%, which retained the title of the leader for this indicator.
