To settle US claims related to accusations that the Royal Bank of Scotland from 2005 to 2008 misled investors about mortgage securities, the bank will pay 4 billion 900 million dollars, the US Justice Department reported. RBS is accused of misleading investors with regard to guaranteeing and issuing mortgage-backed securities, providing inaccurate information and minimizing the risks that faced many creditors. The message of the US department also says that RBS challenges the charges and does not recognize the commission of any offenses.
