The Japanese corporation SoftBank Group plans to invest from 60 to 100 billion dollars in the production of solar energy in India. As the Japanese public television channel NHK reported, it is expected that an official agreement between SoftBank and the Indian government will be signed soon after the final agreement is reached. The company plans to invest through SoftBank Vision Fund, supported by the government of Saudi Arabia, which is its largest investor. As it became known in April, SoftBank and Chinese GCL System Integration Technology intend to create in India a joint venture for the production of solar energy. It is expected that the total amount of their investments will be $930 million.
