Taiwan Semiconductor, the world's largest chip maker and one of the main suppliers of American Apple, said that in the first quarter of 2019, its net profit fell almost 3 times compared to the same quarter a year earlier, amounting to 61 billion 400 million new Taiwan dollars. Experts had expected a smaller decline in the index - to 64 billion 600 million. Revenues amounted to 218 billion 700 million new Taiwan dollars, also noting a significant decrease for the year - by 12%. The company expects that in the second quarter its revenue will be in the range of 7 billion 550 million - 7 billion 650 million US dollars. Since the beginning of the year, its capitalization has increased by more than 17%.
