The European Commission recorded a fall in the composite business and consumer confidence index in the eurozone economy for the eleventh month in a row. In November, the figure was the lowest in 18 months, 109.5 points, dropping from October value to 109.7 points. Economists had expected a further decline - to 109.1 points. According to the European Commission, the main reason for the fall of the index is the decline in consumer expectations in the bloc countries and the weakening of confidence in the Italian economy. Consumer confidence declined in November to minus 3.9 points versus minus 2.7 points in the previous month. At the same time, industrial companies showed an increase from 3 points to 3.4 points. And in the services sector, the index has not changed compared to October, reaching 13.3 points.
