The GDP of Moldova grew by 4.5% in the first half of the year in annual terms and amounted to 81 billion 775 million leu, the National Bureau of Statistics said. Half-year growth was facilitated by such factors as an increase in the final consumption of households, good results recorded in wholesale and retail trade, logistics and transport, as well as in the service sector. The extraction of minerals increased by 1.1%. The same growth was observed in the manufacturing industry and in the energy sector. In construction, growth was 0.5%. At the same time, exports from the beginning of the year to June decreased by 2.2%. The Ministry of Economy of Moldova expects that in 2018 the country's GDP will grow by 3.8%.
