Canadian authorities issued 6% more construction permits to the value of $8.8 billion in December. The November figure was revised downwards - from 2.6% to 2.1%. Developers have planned more projects for the construction of apartment buildings and commercial buildings. The number of permits grew for the fourth month in a row, and in multi-apartment buildings - by 11.1%. The amount of permits was $3.3 billion. The number of single-family permits fell by 5.4% to $2 billion. The same indicator for the construction of non-residential buildings increased by 8.9% to $3.5 billion. Permits for industrial construction reached $588 million, which is 11.9% more than last month. The growth rate is due to the expansion of construction of buildings for maintenance. At the end of 2018, the total number of permits increased by 4.7% and reached $99.7 billion. The number of permits has been growing for the fifth consecutive year.
