The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine reported preliminary data on the country's GDP growth in the first quarter, according to which the Ukrainian economy grew by 2.2% in annual terms, slowing growth rates compared to a rise of 3.5% in the fourth quarter of last year. The growth rate was negatively affected by a number of factors, to which the agency attributed Russia's ban on importing certain types of engineering products from Ukraine, warm weather conditions, which contributed to a decrease in electricity demand, as well as the repair of process equipment at some enterprises in the energy sector. Construction of non-residential buildings increased by 33%, engineering structures - almost 1.5 times. In the past quarter, capital expenditures were increased by 37.4%. In the field of agriculture, a significant increase was observed in the poultry industry and pig breeding.
