According to official data, unemployment in Canada declined in July 2018 to 5.8% from 6% a month earlier. Analysts had expected the decline of the indicator only to 5.9%. Last month, the number of jobs in the country increased by 54 thousand 100, while experts had predicted an increase of 17 thousand seats. The rise of the July index was promoted by the increase in work in the conditions of part-time work. In comparison with the same month last year, the number of employed increased by 246 thousand, or by 1.3%. Employment of the population decreased to 65.4% from 65.5%. Social sphere, education and healthcare increased the number of employees. At the same time, in most industries, including in manufacturing and construction, employment declined.
