Member of the Bank of England, Gertjan Vlieghe, expects for the next three years the higher number of interest rate increases than the market suggests, Reuters reports. In his opinion, “interest rates will increase by 25-50 basis points per year during the forecast period”. The Committee on Monetary Policy of the Bank of England is considering the possibility of more detailed reports on the plans of the Central Bank regarding interest rates. At the same time, some members of the Committee are afraid that in this case the public can count the statements as obligations, not forecasts. The US Federal Reserve and the Central Banks of other countries regularly publish detailed forecasts of possible changes in rates.
