Sales of German automaker Volkswagen in September fell by 18.3% compared with the same month last year and amounted to 485 thousand cars. Such a sharp drop in sales was caused by the introduction of a new procedure for testing passenger cars for emissions, as well as the US trade disputes with China. The German automaker has calculated that its expenses for checking cars will grow by more than 1 billion euros. In Europe, Volkswagen sold only 91 thousand 100 cars, reducing the figure by 42.6% in annual terms. In Germany, sales fell by 47.1% to 23,300 cars. The decline in China was 10.5%. Here the company sold 277 thousand 800 cars.
