The manufacturer of premium cars Volvo Cars announced the opening of the first plant in the US, in Charleston. The company invests in the American plant about 1 billion 100 million dollars. At the plant, with an annual capacity of 150,000 cars, about 4,000 new jobs will be created. Volvo already has two operating car manufacturing plants in Europe and one for the production of engines, as well as three factories in China and assembly plants in India and Malaysia. The automaker plans to start production of the new premium sports sedan Volvo S60 in the fall of 2018 at the American plant, and in 2021 - to launch the next generation of the large premium crossover XC90.
