Wholesale sales in Canada reached $65.3 billion in April, the rise for the fifth consecutive month. April's growth was at the level of 1.7%. At the same time, 5 of the 7 sectors showed an increase in sales. The largest growth was recorded in the sector of automobiles and parts for them, where sales grew by 3.2% to 11.8 billion dollars, noting the highest value since November 2017. A month earlier there was a decrease in this indicator by 1.9%. In April, machinery, equipment and consumables were sold for $13.9 billion. Over the month, the figure rose by 2.2%. Sales of household goods increased by 3.1%. Wholesale inventories increased in April for the eighth months in a row. Their volume increased by 0.4% to 90.6 billion dollars. Stocks of building materials rose by 0.9%, and the household goods sector increased its reserves by 1.1%.
